rv led tail lights 97 base
was reading the post about the rv led taillights a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try. got mine yesterday and they look very good. can be bought for about 14-19 each. what i wanted to do was the strip lighting that some of the members did. it requires the disassembly of the lens which was described as using a thin blade and then your fingernails to separate. they must have used a different way of getting the lens and body together because there is no way that method is going to work for me. don't want to ruin these so i might just have to run them the way they are now. anybody have a good method of separating these lenses from the body without ruining them? thanks

you have to heat them up some to make the glue pliable, then you might be able to separate them easier. I like to use interior pry tools when I do projects like this, They are not quite as harsh as a metal screw driver is. Here is a video about separating headlights, but it's a similar process. I have never used the oven method, I always use a heat gun so I can control heat.

thanks for the reply. i think i'll pass on the heat up method. installed them over the weekend and they look and function very good. don't want to pry on a new tail light. thanks again. one of the forum members said they were not very hard to take apart but these look very solid.
