Default REVERSE-SPLIT CAM WITH STOCK LS1 HEADS?

I AM INTERESTED IN A THUNDER RACING REVERSE-SPLIT CAM. I WANT NASTY, BECAUSE I IN THE FUTURE AM GOING WITH STAGE2 LS6 HEADS WITH DUAL SPRINGS. JUST WANT TO GET BY FOR NOW AND NOT HAVE TO SWAP CAMS LATER. ALSO SHOULD I DYNO AFTER INSTALLING NEW CAM. MEGA1

The Thunder cams are pretty nice camshafts. We have been using quite a few of them lately and all have fired off pretty well. We will be installing a 230/224 cam in a 99 C5 Tuesday with stock heads. We can post some results if you are interested.
We did one in an F-body and with custom dyno tuning, we ended up with 406/391. This with stock heads!

Give me a call if you need any help picking the correct camshaft for what you are looking for oor anything else you may need.

Mega1

Heard lots of great things about the Rev split. Interest started to peak last spring with the G5 and TR Cams.

I am also interested to see the results with stock heads.

BTW: Writing IN CAPS MEAN YOUR ARE MAD OR YELLING.

You may want to refrain.

Good Luck, Happy Vetting

The cap stuff gets annoying..but maybe he does not know yet.

Back to your question. I would recommend changing the valve springs with that particular cam choice. I changed my springs out. My cam is a 224/224 .581/.581 114 lsa. You should run a dual spring setup..then you can use the same springs on your LS6 heads (when you do them) and save some money. Other than that my Heads are stock LS6 heads.

Hey Mega,
Yup! The cam we are installing on Tuesday is a reverse split cam (230/224) and is going on a Corvette. It will be dyno tuned hopefully the same day and results can be posted. Now just need to go get a scanner, now that I have 20-30 dyno graphs to post.... :)

Come by the shop if you are ever in Houston and we will give you the grand tour. :yesnod:
