The answer is yes. Attached is thread with the link embedded to a Corvette VIN Decoder (post #3). Replace the vin that's in there with your vin and submit. You should see all the options and standard equipment including diff ratio RPO code your car came with. See tab labeled "Tech Specs".
Should be good, unless someone has changed the diff. My VIN would show a 3.15, but I changed it to a C5 Z06 3.42. So in my case, the VIN wouldnt be accurate. There's usually a small ID tag with the ratio stamped into it, attached to the rear cover.......

And there's always this scenario as well. I've had two 4.10 diffs and a 3.90 in 3.42 cases. I also have a 3.42 in there now that is a Z06 diff with shotpeened gears. Neither of which are obvious just reading the tag.
Some get lucky to find a pleasant surprise in an unknown diff upgraded by a previous owner.
I'm never that fortunate!
So when I run my VIN through the decoder, in the "equipment" list, it shows a 2.73 axle. However, my build sheet shows 3.42. So which is it? I would have to assume it would be whatever is listed on the build sheet. Would that be the correct assumption?
If you have an MN6 it's a 3.42. If it's an A4 it's definitely not a 3.42 from the factory. All MN6 cars including Z06 came with 3.42. Autos only came with either 2.73 or 3.15. So if an auto you have the 2.73 according to the equipment sheet.

PS...if it's an A4 and you want to confirm for yourself... take the car for a spin and driving in D not OD run it up to 70mph and check RPMs. If at 2700 doing 70mph in D it's a 2.73. If RPMs are at 3100 at 70mph in D it's a 3.15.

Correction...I just ran mine and see under "equipment" it lists the standard equipment at 2.73. In the tech sheet it lists the correct axle ratio 3.42.
@Corvette Wild your assumption is confirmed. The tech sheet has the correct build info. The 'equipment' tab is just standard equipment listed.
