Installed LG 3/4 inch headers. All looked to be ok, but when I turn left I'm hearing and feeling a clanging sound. Got back underneath and after looking further I have very minimal clearance on both sides, looks like I can bend that up to create clearance. On the passenger side though it looks as if the header is resting on the heat shield. I'm thinking that is where my sound is coming from. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, what was the fix for it? Took some pictures of the issue but I'm not sure if you can really see or not. Any assistance is appreciated!
I also have LG headers and that space is tight. I only have like a 1/4" of clearance, maybe less on passenger side. Luckily mine doesn't rub, or if it does, I can't tell.
This Fall when I take the car off the road I plan a few maintenance things under the hood and will swap the motor mounts because the ones I have are tired. That should straighten things out a bit, but that's only my theory. If mounts are bad the motor could be shifting a bit more than normal which could cause your rub.
Maybe try jacking the motor up a 1/4" or so and see if clearance improves? If so that could mean motor mounts are sagging.

With how they're resting on the heat shields I would think jacking the engine up would actually make it worse...🤷♂️
I got under there again and it seems the entire system is closer to the drivers side than the passenger side. Thinking i need to rip it all apart and make a bracket of some sort to hold the headers in place while i put it all back together. I really wish this system would come with a bracket to put the headers into the position they need to be, especially because everything is so tightly spaced.
The LG headers aren't known for fitment issues. Go ahead and search around, no one seems to have any issues with them, despite the tight fit. When I was searching for a rattling noise in my car, I thought for sure it was headers hitting the tunnel. This car is new to me, and I had not done the work to install the headers. Upon first glance under the car, my only theory/conclusion was the headers hitting the frame, because clearances were so tight. Wasn't until 3 weeks later when under the car again I noticed a no longer used stock exhaust hanger dangling loosely and hitting against the tunnel plate just past the X-pipe, The tunnel plate transferred the sound to make it seem like the noise was coming from somewhere in front of the shifter (which again I though was the headers).
My point is, these headers aren't known for fitment issues, so then I'd start looking at what's up with the positioning of the motor. The number one thing that effects positioning of the motor is motor mounts (or a tweaked frame from a collision). Our motor mounts are ~20 years old. Guarantee that rubber isn't as perky as it was when it came off the line in Bowling Green.
If you're gonna take the headers off again to try to make them fit better, try new motor mounts, they're cheap enough, bolt it back up, and you may be surprised to see it solves your problems.

I ended up putting a bracket on to pull the header to where it should be. I also found one of the clamps in am awkward position so I rotated that away from the frame rail. It's been a week or so and no rattling heard at all. So all seems to be well. I wish the headers came with a bracket so one wouldn't have needed to been fabricated, but apparently only the LG pro come with a bracket, I have the LG Street... I'm a peasant I suppose...lol
