Hey guys on my 99c5 I want to completely delete the ecbm (abs/traction control) for various reasons. The ecbm in my car works perfect now so would sell it after removing. One of the reasons I want to delete is most likely going holley terminator in the future. I took a video of my car showing no dash lights so that a perspective buyer can see that it works with no issues. I then unplugged the ecbm and had a "service vehicle soon" message. From all the searching I have done I was expecting messages and of course the lights, but never saw anything about "service vehicle message".
I cannot drive the car now as i just put it on jackstands in preparation for a torque tube rebuild (fun). Will this cause the car to go into limp mode or anything like that?
I was planning on just pulling the bulbs after removing. From the searching I know I will have to clear the other messages everytime i drive it.
I also read about all the issues with removing it and having an automatic transmission with torque management etc. My car is a manual, will i have any issues in that regard?
I just want the car to run/drive normally after removing the ecbm. Any feedback/advice is definitely welcome. Thanks guys
Edit already have the lines, prop valve all figured out.
Following. There hast to be more than a few people that know the answers from first hand experience.
Torque management between shifts (auto cars) I would think will still work as it is a calculated value I believe. Torque management (traction control) from wheel slippage certainly will not work since the EBCM is gone.
Go to the SERIAL DATA BUSS CONNECTOR in the passengers foot well to the left of the BCM, between the carpet and tunnel and de-pin the serial data wire for EBTCM. It will be in the connector with the most wires.
See if that makes any IPC lights go out. Don't have my service manuals so cant give you a pin position or wire color.
HEY, If it doesn't change anything, you can just pop it back in the connector.
That data wire is how the EBTCM communicates to other modules.

Thank you. Ill do some searching and see if i can locate which wire that would be. Im glad you chimed in, I have read tons of things you have posted/replied to. Very knowledgeable person to pay attention to. If you happen to find out which wire/pin location before I do, I definitely won't be upset if you post it!
Here is the schematic of the star connectors on the serial databus and the locations of them on the left side of the body control module in passenger footwell

Awesome thank you so much for that! I have to go out of town today but as soon as I get back I will get busy. I really appreciate it
Hey guys sorry for the late update. Had some personal and family things come up. Finally had a chance to try this suggestion. I de pinned that wire and all the tcs,abs lights were on as well as the service vehicle soon message. I plugged it back in and all went away again as my ecbm is good in my car. Apparently there was a company revolution electronics that made a device that used the suggested wire and with their box it kept the dash lights and error codes off. Apparently they had some legal issues and had to stop producing them as of now until they work some details out. I would love to be able to find one of those. But will likely have to wait until they work out whatever issues they had legally. But apparently it definitely has something to do with the wire that bill suggested ID pin to try. Unfortunately it didn't work out. I just wanted to update the post to let you guys know what I found when I tried the suggestion trick
