Default Help with speaker upgrade.

Let me preface this by saying i’m pretty new to car audio.

Im wanting to upgrade the headunit and door speakers in my 98 coupe with the bose system. I want to replace both the 3.5s and the 8s. I don’t want a crazy amount of bass and would rather replace the 8s with coaxial speakers (i think?). Can anyone help me out? I’m looking for a nice clear sound that isn’t crazy loud but i can hear over wind/road noise.

This is the headunit i would like to use. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130DM1...0NEX.html?fr=1

If anyone has any experience with this please share your thoughts.

Also is it necessary to run an aftermarket amp or can i power the door speakers off the headunit. I do not want to replace the 2 rear speakers and instead have decided to completely ditch them.

Any advice is appreciated immensely.

Thank You!

Can't give much advice on replacement speakers. That said, I'd think twice, or thrice, about getting a HU that's not capable of playing CDs. Many will probably disagree, but even if you don't use it often the option to do so is still there. I like more options over less options. Now that vinyl is making a comeback (!!??!!), never say never!! My opinion....
