Default Nitto 555R Questions

I have heard that the Nitto 555R DR can be used for every day driving....manufacturer claims around 15k miles on the street.

Is anyone actually using these tires as their daily setup?
How do they perform on the street, and especially in the rain or on wet roads??? I have heard that the tread does help in repealing water, but I'm skeptical :skep:

Feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

My friend has them as well on a Firehawk. They are really soft and pick up all kinds of gravel and stones and then sling them on your car.

They work really well though.

Sven, i used those tires on my Camaro SS for a year straight, by far the best tires I've ever used in my life. The vette would get 0wned by my camaro in an autox just because of the tires. I used them on the front and the back. Mine lasted 14000 miles on the front and 10000 miles on the back.

The tires are bad when its below 40 degrees out, and when there is standing water on the road at highway speeds (although, when new, the tires arent THAT bad in the wet).

The second the 555R2's come out in 18's, im gonna put a set on the front and back of my C5 no question about it. The handling of the C5 is just a joke with these S03's compared to what a real tire would do.

How are Nittos for handling? For example, going into sharp turns etc.

Are they OK to do this? I know they are great for straight line traction, but how do they compare to a non runflat tire (like an S03 or similar) in terms of handling?

When I get me TC and gears I will likely get this tire but would love to have it in stock C5 sizes!
