I suggest looking at what Trackspec released recently. Although I don't have these, I have many other products from these guys and I consider their stuff "top shelf".
Based on the pic on their website, it would come through the mesh screen. You can always give them a call to discuss. John is super nice to deal with there!
I use the front one to winch the car in the trailer every time, and the rear has been used to pull me out of off track excursions a few times and they still look new.
I ended up ordering the Spec Corvette/Track Spec Motorsports front and rear.
I wish I would've waited and saw your post as it was 250$ with tax and shipping. Similar style front and rear though. Rear bolt to exhaust bracket/chassis and fronts come through the mesh grill.
What do you mean by shear bolts on the after dark racing? I'm pretty sure these are grade 8 hardware.

-Thanks!
Shear is the force going perpendicular to the bolt. The after dark hooks transfer the force to the frame by the design of the plate on the back side of the frame. Most other hooks are flat and rely on the strength of the bolts going up to pull the car. The bolts in the after dark on basically just hold the hook in place and dont see towing forces.
vs others that mount flat on the bottom of the frame:
Even the spec Corvette ones only have a small lip that barely clears the radius of the frame.
