Default Throttle Position sensor fault

My dad's 2003 corvette gets this throttle position sensor fault. Mechanic has replaced the sensor twice and the harness once with a sensor in the past 3 years. It just happened again, he now knows he can just shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes and he can start it back up. But any ideas on what causes this and what will fix it for good?
Any help and ideas are appreciated.
Sherrie

I would use your DIC and your phone's video recorder. Pull up the codes and record a video as the car goes through all of them. Then investigate each code you see at your leisure.
If you don't know how to pull the codes go to YouTube, there are several good videos.
You can check the service manual if you're getting a P0220 code. My 2000 manual does not mention that one, I believe that was implemented sometime in 2003.
It sounds like your mechanic isn't diagnosing the root cause. I'd consider taking the car elsewhere.

This page isn't corvette specific but gives a fair overview of what that code means. If your code is different it probably does not apply to you.

Thank you so much. I will try to do this. It has even been to a Dealership and they also checked the codes and said the throttle position sensor which is now an aftermarket part. I will check out your link. Thanks again Sherrie
