SDM module no comm error

SDM module no comm error
I was going through my DIC yesterday and noticed the SDM no comms error- no # just says no comms and no airbag light that stays on. I did add an aftermarket radio last year and noticed no changes in anything but did not check codes until yesterday. Will my airbags deploy or is the system dead?

The SDM is below the HVAC control head. If it were accidentally disconnected when the radio was replaced, I would think you would have an air bag light.
