Default LS3 intake on LS1?

I see the rec - cath adapters allowing cathedral port intake on a rec port head.

Has anyone used those adapters and put an LS3 intake on an LS1?
Will it clear hood, etc? Good power gains on a HC car?

Its been done, but for the money and effort spent it doesnt make much sense, you could just get a FAST intake

Other than the LS3 intake and the adapters, what other costs are incurred?

See post #1 of this thread for costs and work associated with an LS3 intake swap on an LS1. A whole lot of work for negligible low end gains over the LS1 intake. Nevermind the LS6 or a FAST.

The OP was still working on more tuning when he landed at 404 rwhp@5800rpm and 392 rwhtq@ 4,600.

My '99 LS1 with ported 241s, LS6 intake and ported stock 78mm TB was at 428rwhp/398rwtq with long tubes and injectors. Other than having a cool story to tell about his experiment it's a Frankenstein waste of time, money and effort.

Injectors/fuel rail and throttle body come to mind. I’m sure there’s more though.

Even with just the intake and adapter you are near the price of a fast intake, seems like a no brainer to just go that route.

Also you have that backwards, you would be putting a rec port intake on a cathedral port head
