So i'm curious,my new to me 01 Z has 150k miles and runs very well so far,how could I check if it still has the original engine in it?

You can verify it has the right parts such as 5.7 casted on block, 243 on the heads etc…

Dont know of a way you could tell for certain it is original. At only 150k miles there’s no reason it shouldn’t be original though unless it was abused or swapped for something better.

I'm not sure how you would know if the engine was replaced with the correct replacement. You may want to take a peak inside the valve covers and make sure you don't have the dreaded yellow springs... There was just a failure a month or so ago. I donated my old blue ones to help the young mans cause.

I'd run it till the wheels fall off...
