Default Trans cooler lines

Hey guys,

almost done with my build. Part of which was upgrading to a larger trans cooler and doing AN lines. Many weeks ago I removed the factory trans lines from the junction (98 Auto Trans) under the car near the back of the oil pan. Stupidly, I forgot to label which is which and now I’m stuck during reassembly.

anyone have intel on which line is the supply, and which is the return?

Not exactly. I can see them coming out of the trans so i can see which is which, but then they come together and go over the tunnel plate, come out right by the header. So i can not tell which line is which.

Disconnect the top line at the radiator and gently blow some compressed air through it. Tie a rubber glove over each end at the trans to catch the mess.

A general rule of thumb-MOST of the time, is the input at a cooler, which would get the hottest fluid, connects to the bottom of the cooler in question. Heat rises, so the hottest fluid entering at the bottom will try to rise, a semi thermo siphon principle, IIRC, and may not!!
