I had done the same and cut a stock C5 bar. It pretty much sucked. If you opt for OE, at least go for the C6 Z06 piece. No better machined, but a better grip and placement at least.
A mandatory upgrade to any shifter with any miles is the TMODcustoms tub. The OE bushings for the cup as well as the TT bolts wear out fast and this aggressively contributes to any oe or aftermarket shifter feeling like crap by adding flex to the entire mechanism. Upgrade your tub once and it lasts the life of the car.

I bought the Amazon's one...should be here by August 7th or slightly before.
Dude is that part your are referring at from TMODcustoms the shifter bushing? Or the billet shift box where this short shift and the shaft are placed in? If any of these...could you show me a picture or a link, please?
Neither. The one where you send him your box and he mods it and sends it back within a few days. Email him if you can't find it on the page.
I'll leave that on my wishlist for some time later man... I live in Spain so shipping time and local customs here will kill me. I should travel to US next year hopefully then I might do something with that. Thanks anyway!!

Received it yesterday and installed it today. No way this piece of ***** could do that much on the way how you enjoy the car! Man... Now we're talking!! Feels hard...very hard when changing gears but I definitely LOVE IT! Now it's a car for men... Arrived home today feeling my arm pumped lol this is the most cheap mod everyone MUST do.
Being a Chinese thing I preferred to see how was made and unbolted the top bolts to see how was made. 1st) two out of four top bolts were losen. 2) no lubrication at all inside, not even in the plastic ball joint. So I took advantage of my curiosity and added some fine grease to the moving parts inside of it. Also added a very small washer I found (1mm height) to eliminate a slight play in between the bottom sfere and the bushing + some more grease.
Greatly happy with the result.
PS: I will regret that iron shift **** on a very hot sunny day 🥲
What's it like being in Spain with an American icon? Is it looked at the way we look at Italian sports cars here?
Lol well it is like lots of people wanting to do pictures of the car, making videos while driving, VAG ricers wanting to race you all the time, teen girls taking selfies with the car in the background, kids with their open mouths watching the pop up headlights... It's taken and seen as an exotic car, just as a Ferrari is (well ok...a bit less maybe ☺️).
Had before a Porsche 996 and it wasn't like my experience with this car. I also didn't like it as much as this Corvette!
