Default E brake HANDLE adj.

Okay I got half my interior part now not having much luck so far, is there a way to adjust the e-brake handle lower, my brakes I set them up when I had the wheels and stuff off in the winter time and put the rotors back on.. fits snug and all that stuff but still the handle, you got to crank on a pretty good, almost to end of travel, so I'm wondering if there's an adjustment on the handle somewhere where you can pull it like halfway and it's really snug on the brakes. I don't see an adjustment down on the Wheel and it's pretty hard to see if there's an adjustment on the handle itself without taking the seat out, I guess that's a possibility takes a few minutes. Any help would be appreciated

As far as I know, there is an adjuster off to the side of the brake shoe. I believe you have to take the rear rotor off.

The Parking brake lever has two pawls, one for the nominal Parking brake, the other for providing what little auto adjustment the Parking brake system has. The 20+ year old grease turns to a solid and binds the pawls preventing proper functioning. You will need to clean and relube the Parking brake handle assembly. There are a couple of good threads, but most of the photos no longer show up.

I took the seat out and made it easy and simple. removed brakie handle from the tunnel, worked the handle and both pawls are operating properly, no siezures, cleaned them up a bit and lubed with some good cam break in lube, Could hear and see them both clicking away.. so off come the wheels now, I now they are already snug on the rotor hub, but will mess with it..
Thanks for your input.

Read one of the old EvilTwin posts that more-or-less noted that if the drums have any wear lip at all you should adjust the shoes to where the drums are difficult to force on. Explanation being that once the drums are in place the shoes are in a bit of a well in the drum, and it simply isn’t possible to fit them snugger. Now if the drums don’t have a wear lip, you can’t fit them that snuggly.

Was final resolution the adjustment of the shoes to closer to the drums?

yes, i took one off and tightened it up a bit. wasn t enough, was a struggle to get it off again, I did, and the damn wire spring that supports the shoes flew off, 3 hrs later i got it back in, was a trick.
the other side was ok, tightened it, hub was tight, so sprayed it down with wd40 and slipped right on.. not really
thanks for your input sir
