As of this week my car completely dies after moving out of Ignition into start. Previously, when I've had weak batteries it will try to crank but will do so slowly/tiredly because it has almost no power. Now, It will move out of ignition and immediately lose all power. It won't even try to start, it will just dramatically lose all power.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? I am thinking about jump starting it to take it to auto-zone to find a new battery, but since it just dies immediately and doesn't even try to crank, I fear it might not be my power but something else entirely.
You could remove the battery and have it load tested at nearby auto parts store to rule our the battery. The Ignition switch switches off all power to all systems that are not needed for the car to crank over and start, so when the car fails to crank over it does seem like everything is dead. One final thing to check is the battery cables are they clean and tight.
