Just found out I need the drivers side actuator replaced. Called a corvette shop in Massachusetts and was quoted six hours labor plus part cost. They said they would use an original gm part if available ($315.20). It is available. I know Dorman are a lot cheaper but are they as reliable? I’m 77 years young so I’m not gonna try the job myself. Does this estimate seem accurate.

No, the time to replace the left actuator is 0.6 hours NOT 6 hours…50 minutes !!…the shop are a bunch of idiots and need some arithmetic schooling!!…any Dorman electrical parts are JUNK…stick with an OEM part or any Tier 1 parts supplier to GM…Delphi, Bosch or Denso etc…shop labor time is out of Alldata…show this to them !!…the DTC is a B0441…any shop can do this job since many GM cars use this actuator…Corvettes aren’t any special…that $315.20 seems a little steep !!

HOLY......$1,200+ for labor and parts??!!!! Glad you set him straight, Rob! The $$$$ this "shop" charges for changing the easier actuator......Man, just think if a C5 needed all new actuators and this "shop" was doing it, they could total the car due to having bad actuators!!!!!
