Default A/C question

I have a 2001 base convertible new to me and notice that the air flow from the air conditioning system seems to have a weak flow even on high fan/ cool and there is cold air coming out under the dash in the area below the steering wheel. This happens even when the mode for upper vents is selected and showing. Does anyone have any suggestions including a good way to troubleshoot the problem. Also in Max Cool on a hot day the fan in Auto will not blow more than 1/2 way but will blow full on manual. I appreciate your help.

If the temperatures are OK sounds like a vacuum issue controlling the mode door vacuum actuators…if you have a Mityvac and can access the vacuum reservoir you can apply vacuum to the vacuum line going to the door actuators and see if it holds a vacuum…pics below !!…reservoir is aft of the PCM.

I'm thinking I have the same issue. Blows cold but I noticed today (First time in shorts) that when mode is set to dash vents, the floor vent is still blowing and after some driving noticed condensation building on the windshield. FWIW, here are the cfm readings from dash and door vents. As a reference, my 2020 Impala blows 1500cfm

vacume line running from back of intake manifold, running under battery tray(pull battery and tray) might have to go under car take out 1 bottom fender bolt and pull out slightly use a flashlight to see the line and the connections. This line controls where the air comes out inside the car.
