Default Shock replacement choice

I am going to be replacing the shocks on my 02 base this winter and after looking through the forum have come down to either the Bilstein B6’s or the 06 Z06 shocks. So for those of you who have swapped to either of these, what is your impression. Pros and Cons too either? TIA

Viking Performance double adjustable. Great bang for the buck and they are adjustable for your liking.

My C6 z06 shock opinion is very positive....1998 Z51 car at 40k, I felt there was not enough dampening and at highway speed the thing was not comfortable at all. Like the car was floating, idk how else to explain it. Even over rolling bumps the suspension over shot too much. The C6 Z06 shocks I would pay twice for how much they improved the car. Only street driven, no track experience, but driven as hard as the street lets you. Then the body roll got to me....the C6 z06 sways took that away and I also would pay twice for those.

Who is a go to vendor for those?

I have some new c6 z06 shocks that perform great but I’d like to go for some coil overs for the ride height

I'm not 100% who carries them. You can also just call Viking.

Dear OHRedSled,

There is a great review, install video, and supporting info on this youtube link regarding the 06 Z06 shocks. Perhaps that's what led you here, in not, take a peek.

Thanks for the video, I’ve been to his channel a lot but missed that video. He may have just made up my mind.

Viking's website is a little hard to find. They have an extensive application guide on the site and several different vendors show up via an internet search but as with any suspension product finding anyone that knows what they are talking about is very hit or miss.

I went with the C6 ZO6 shocks on my '00 Vert. Those coupled with new Michelin Pilot Sport's transformed the ride and handling. It wasn't bad before with the stock shocks, but I notice a much more compliant, almost Cadillac-esque ride. But in the twisties, the car just flat out handles.

You won't be disappointed with the ZO6 shocks

The Bilstein B6 is a great damper for the intended use you describe; I've used them on 2001 C5 Z51 coupe and my current 02 Z06. They are priced reasonably and available from multiple retailers.
