Hello all! I was trying to reroute my bypass valve vacuum line when I came across this. Can anyone tell me what it is and if I need to have it attached to a vacuum source. Thank you

The attached line goes into the drivers side firewall.

I can’t be sure, but it looks like your oil pressure sending unit with a remote setup.

It's the OP sensor.

Thanks everyone. The reason I’m asking is because I have a procharger bullet bypass valve that has its vacuum line T’s into this oil pressure module…. It is then routed behind the intake manifold and along the passenger side valve train and connected to the throttle body… that just doesn’t seem right. As a result, the passenger side valve train port (that would normally be connected to the throttle body is just open to atmosphere). I was going to run the bypass valve/oil pressure sensor to the brake booster line and reconnect t the throttle body to the clean side port of the valve cover. Does that sound fair?

What am I missing here? The line to the oil sensor should be pressurized oil, but it sounds like you’re looking at it as a vacuum hose. That is, I think I know what you think I thought you said.

the sensor that I have circled is currently inline with my bypass valve …. The bypass valve vacuum line runs up the drivers side, is tee’d into the circled sensor and then continues around the other side into the throttle body. I don’t know what the heck this sensor is. The sensor is connected to a line that goes into the firewall. Could it be hvac related?

I have a 2004, and just walked out to the garage to take a look. My car doesn’t have that gadget in that location, at least….

makes me wonder if this is something they added to read boost pressure or something like that.

did it! So far so good. I have the whoosh I’ve been looking for. My next question is this, should I hook the throttlebody up to the clean port on the valve cover passenger side? Or should I be worried about too much crank case pressure when in boost?
