2003 Z. Reassembling front after SKF Hub upgrade. A bit confused over lower
ball joint torque procedure in the Haynes manual. Step 2 and Step 3. If I tighten an additional 210 degrees I'm WAY past 41 ft lbs. After the 210 degree crank am I supposed to brake it loose, then do step 3, torque to 41 ft lbs? Factory original ball joint and nut. No cotter key. TIA.
From the 2001 Factory shop manual, Book #1 page 3-52.....
* Install the lower control arm ball joint stud nut;
* Tighten the stud nut to 15 lb/ft to seat the ball joint stud;
* Turn the ball joint stud nut an additional 210 degrees;
* Check the ball joint stud nut for a minimum final torque of 41 lb/ft.
