Long story but can someone help please. I was driving my car kind of hard and when I went from second to third (not flatout, but fast) my clutch pedal got stuck but I didn’t realize till I had to slow down and downshift. So I was driving with the clutch somewhat engaged for maybe 5 or 6 seconds but I didn’t hear screeching or anything to indicate I was messing up my clutch. When I came to a complete stop and started driving again I smelled something and I’m pretty sure it was the clutch. Few days go by and I went to drive my car again and now the clutch seems to scrape, (I hear something that I know I shouldn’t be hearing when the car shifts). I am able to go through the gears. So if what I need is to replace the clutch cool I want to know since my car has about 150,000 miles and I eventually (more so within 2 years) want to start modding my car what else should I get and change since I’m goin to be in that area. I’ve seen on the forum that if you are in the same position I’m in you might as well go all out on the clutch so with that in mind I have my eyes set on
Tick and Monster complete clutch swap package
Monster clutch Sc series Twin disc clutch 700-1000 hp/tq
On the fence on whether I should go with 24lb or 20lb Flywheel
Tick Performance Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder Kit
Tick Performance Remote Clutch Speedbleeder Line
GM style Slave Cylinder
Throwout Bearing
Pilot Bearing
Clutch Alignment Tool
Innovators West 8-Rib Harmonic Balancer for Corvette 10% Overdrive
Pinning Kit
Dual Keyway
Superduty Hub
Getting this because my harmonic balancer got pushed towards the front bumper and the bolt just keeps spinning doesn’t tighten. I’m not sure if I need a new harmonic balancer or if I just need a new bolt.

Reason: Not enough engagement
Ok sounds good. I only was looking at that specific brand “innovators west” because I think that’s the only brand of harmonic balancers that Tick performance carries. (And I wanted to buy most of what I needed from one place) But I have heard of great things about ATI brand of balancers.
Yes the bolt just spins and doesn’t tighten. The balancer is not in its original position. It’s almost touching what I’m assuming is the steering rack?

You should absolutely not be driving the car like this. Don't even start it. That smell could be the balancer or balancer bolt against the power steering rack. The rack is going to need to be inspected too.
You're going to need to have the balancer removed and the crank snout inspected. If it's damaged that's really bad.
If not then you will need a new balancer and bolt. I just had this same thing happen. Clutch sticking to the floor too. The two situations aren't related.
I went with an ATI and Monster twin set up like you listed above but went with a GM master and slave.
balancer bolt that doesn't tighten is not good news, the crank is probably stripped

How hillbilly are you? JB Weld would probably be better than what you've got but I can't imagine it holding up for very long.
Yes…absolutely DO NOT start the engine. You may want to postpone your mod plans until the balancer issue gets sorted out. Either send it to a trusted Corvette-ready shop via flatbed, or tackle it yourself if you’re up to that.
If the crank is damaged it’s bad news. The balancer bolt requires about 240 pounds of torque to tighten properly, so a shade tree repair is sketchy at best. Let’s hope somebody installed it “poorly” and it’s just worked it’s way out. The rack needs to come out in order to make that inspection.
Here’s Part 1 of a three part video series that will familiarize you with harmonic balancer replacement.
The bolt on the balancer may be broken. Try taking it out and looking at it. That will tell you a lot on next steps. Don't let the mileage scare you. The engines were designed to go 250K miles and the chassis 400K miles..
