Chasing engine noises
so I guess maybe super lean?????
It starts clicking super super loud when going down the highway. But once I pull into the driveway and let the car idle, it goes away about 20 seconds later, so it’s super hard to poke around and listen.
The loud clicking is normally after the engine warms up and some days there are no sounds.
I am chasing a lot of small little noises and rumbles as well.
The fuel rail ticks a lot, so I will pull the fuse relay for the fuel pump tomorrow?
Other than pulling the valve covers off and digging into the valve train (which I really do t want to do) is there anything else to consider? It sat for a while due to me replacing the oil pump. It has intake and exhaust and nitrous.
thank y’all for your time!!!!
Is that in every gear?
Under load only or also coasting?
If you accelerate slowly in first gear does the noise start at about the same rpm every time?
You replaced the oil pump, is your oil pressure good? Car have the right amount of oil in it?
Type in "read a spark plug" into duckduckgo and look at some of the images to get an idea of what the white on your plug is telling you.
Mechanic's stethoscope might be helpful.
