I went to start the car roday to let it run and the battery was dead. I put a charger on it and the lights flash and there is a ticking noise from the motor. The car will not start still.
You p[robably have a bad battery/insufficiently charged battery. If your car is in storage, you do not need to start it periodically. In fact, unless you run it for a long time and thouroughly warm it up, you are not doing it a favor! Continue to charge you battery, or get a Battery Tender and hook it up for the season. If you still have problems in the spring, get an Optima. :yesnod: :)
Its weird thou, it is a new battery and there is a clicking noise coming from the motor even when the key is not in the ignition. I can jump start it with the truck and it will run fine. When I try to start it with battery jumper everything clicks and it wont start.
I checked everything and still nothing.I just want to know if that clicking noise is something important like the ecu or something. I am going to take my battery back and exchange it for a new one.
I agree with Washing. Just disconnect the Neg cable and let it set a while. Then reconnect it. Chances are it will start just fine. The approximate time to leave the Neg cable off is about one beer.
Try disconnecting the battery for a while (5 minutes), then reconnect.
Maybe you have a stuck relay somewhere and it's draining the battery? :leaving: Good luck!

The clicking noise is normal.
Pull the battery out of the car for charging if it's dead. Get 2 bolts that fit the battery and charge it on your workbench.
Problem fixed, completely dead battery. Got new one, car works get, now if it would stop snowing so I can drive it sometime this year. :cry :mad Thanx everyone for all the help.
Where is the best place to buy the battery tender? I haven't started mine in over a week and when I started it today it cranked slow for a second or two then fired up. I'd like to get one of those to avoid a dead battery because of the bitter cold weather.
