Haltech IC-7 Dash
Geeky and handy.
I don't want to convert to such a dash. I prefer the factory cluster and HUD. But I wouldn't mind having the live data to monitor on the screen, just on my stereo head unit instead - which is also a 7" display.
And now I am wondering how to mount the IC-7 in the glove box but crack it open and solder or run a different video out feed to my Pioneer Avic-8200nex via hdmi, usb or analog. I don't at all need to do it, but I like to tinker and that might be a fun diversion later on. For now, I have a busy winter ahead of me. Blower, heads and oil pan coming off. C6 pan, different heads and twin turbos going on. And five hundred other things to finish the build.
This disclaimer gives me pause: "Haltech products are designed and sold for sanctioned off-road/competition non-emissions controlled vehicles only and may never be used on a public road or highway. Using Haltech products for street/road use on public roads or highways is prohibited by law unless..."
As for the boiler plate disclaimer included on most parts you might add to the car? Pretty sure no one is worried about that. Besides.... The version you refer to which is just spitting out OBD2 data on a screen like any UltraGauge or Torque app? I mean... There is zero regulation over viewing data feeds in the car. So it is just their boiler plate EULA. Video games have more to theirs than Haltech does.
