I have no proof, but I use motorcycle chain lube. It goes on as a low viscosity oil, seeps into tighter clearances, and then coagulates into a grease like lube. It is made to penetrate into chain link pins, and works well. Hinges are very of similar construction. I have about 143,000 miles on my car, and no door sagging......yet...

That's good stuff. I don't ride a motorcycle but I do cycle 100+ miles per week on a road bike and I've been using the White Lightning silicone-based lubricant that I think is similar.
I use "Lemon Pledge."
It goes on easily and never makes a mess. One might use it pretty regularly as it isn't as greasy as real grease. But it lasts a good year.
