Backfire From Start?
2004 Z06, stock original, about 40k on the clock. This past weekend I noticed what sounds like a small backfire when accelerating normal from a stop. I also noticed when listening to the exhaust from the back of the vette, there’s a slight gurgle. Seems to be coming from right side exhaust. And also random, like Morse code if you know what I mean.
Can codes be triggered without setting off CEL?
One thing that came to mind is that I filled up with Sunoco 93 from about 1/3 tank empty last week before putting it in the garage. Could it be bad gas?
Still running original plugs. Oil level fine and pressure normal on the dash gauge.
Also still pulls like a freight train.
