My 01 Vert, 6M, 50K miles. Lately I have noticed that when I drive the car after it has been sitting for a week or so, the MPG has reset and odometer comes up on the DIC rather than the page previously set. The HUD is also at the default page. The car has had no loss of power, starts right up. Optima red top less than 2 years old. It also has developed a slight miss under load at lower RPM in 5th and 6th gears, runs great in normal driving. Don't know if they are related or not, but both issues started at the same time. Any ideas?
You are not alone, my ‘98 Vert has done the same thing you described a couple of times in the past few years. I just get a confused look on my face and drive on. Never put any effort in searching for the cause. I’ll follow this thread now.
You should have your battery load tested. Even a new battery can fail. If all good there, you may have a higher than normal parasitic draw when shut down.

I wonder if there's a miniature battery built into the PCM circuit board that keeps the NVRAM alive during power outages. If so, that battery on the circuit board could be toast.
Could be a battery issue; it should be checked.
More likely would be the grounds. If you haven't disassembled, inspected, cleaned and secured the nine main chassis grounds in the past few years, I'd start there.

I've been wrong before, but in my near 20 years here I have never heard of any battery except the one under the hood.......
