So I wanted to get rid of the rims that came on the car when I got it. I came across a deal on some c6 wheels that I couldn’t refuse. I added a before pic for reference.
Long story short I need help with my sensors. The tire shop told me that mine were seized to the old wheels so I need a new set. I have done some digging and found that, like everything else, my 2000 FRC uses the older electronics. The part numbers I found in my search for the 97-00 sensors don’t seem to either still be valid or they aren’t being made any longer. Which ones have you guys bought?
Also the wheel locks, 3rd pic, clearly aren’t going to work sticking out like that. Would McGuard locks be shorter body wise like the others? Are there other brands I should consider? TIA
When I had new wheels installed on my 2000 back in February, they used P# 33700. It's a universal type and has been working problem free since install.
Schraeder 28006 was the direct replacement of the OE sensor but this is now replaced by schraeder 29178 .
The 28006 was activated by a magnet but 29178 does does need a TMPS instrument

That sucks!! So, does anyone make a quality TPMS that can be programmed with a magnet?
OEM’s are still available at about $100 each. They are new old stock because they are no longer made. You would have to check with the seller to see the manufacturing date.
PERFECT! I found those online but wasn’t sure if they would work since the part number was different. Everyone seems to be pro schrader too so I just bought these.Would I need to buy the thing to program them before I take the car in to have them installed?
I suggest you trigger them and label them before you have them installed. You don’t want to have them installed and then find out 1 of them was defective.
