I have a '99 with 176,000 miles on it. I'm also interested in recommendations. I've searched this many times, but come across threads with many arguments for an against synthetics, arguments over brands, etc. My shifter is real notchy, especially cold. Being mine is a '99, I know about paper filters...
So far the recommendations I have is Amsoil Torque Drive, Redline D4, and of course the Delco stuff.
I'm leaning towards the Redline D4 because I can freshen the tranny, and my Power Steering all with one fluid.
Do not put synthetic oil in it. It’s a well documented fact
Please post some of your documentation.
I think you're referring to a supposed issue with paper blocking rings but the OP's 04 doesn't have those even if the rumors were substantiated.
