Does the crankshaft position sensor need spacers?

Does the crankshaft position sensor need spacers?
I measured the clearance to be 0.004" between the end of the new sensor and the OD of the reluctor wheel. Should there be more space between the two or doesn't it matter?

Not a definitive answer, but I just replaced mine and everything I read said the Delco replacement sensor was a perfect fit and no one mentioned tolerances. Just swapped it in and no issue, just did the sensor relearn and all is good.
