Default Electrical Gremlins, need help.

OK, so I have a 2003 Z06. It has just a little over 90,000 miles on it.

I absolutely love the car.

Here recently, it started having some electrical gremlins that all C5's have.

I'm getting No Comms with the Hvac unit. The unit seems to be working for the most part though.

The IPC is flickering on and off, I have no guage readings. I can drive it for 30 minutes, stop to get gas, upon starting it no IPC/Guages. I could start it one day and nothing works and the next day it's working.

When the IPC goes, the radio and windows up and down go out with it. But both the radio and windows work fine, with ignition in accessories mode.

I changed the ignition switch in it, but it did nothing.

It says I'm getting a short/ground to the horn relay code.

Both of the door module are throwing codes for the voltage being out of range.

Battery is brand new.

Any corrosion under the battery tray? The ecu and all of the wires that go with it are under it. If the car has or had an old school lead acid battery it’s worth a look.
In my first c5 I had a lot of weird voltage issues. My cables from the started had corrosion from the battery.
It was causing the car fans not to run full power so it would hot and overheat with AC on.
weak starting

I did notice when I changed the battery, from a previous owner, there had been signs of some acid corrosion.

If I'm remembering correctly there is a splice connector behind the battery? I'll have to look at that tomorrow for sure.

Hopefully it’s something you can clean up or repair without a lot of drama. I hate electrical issues

I found this next to my BCM trying to trouble shoot this problem, does anyone know what this is? Or why two of the wires lead nowhere?

It’s a power cord from a radar detector. I suppose someone hardwired it in.

The first thing to do is load test the battery. All sorts of symptoms arise with a slightly low battery.

While the battery is out, disassemble, clean and dielectric grease the ground terminal and connecting wires under the battery.

Battery terminal connections must be clean, dielectric greased and tight. 11 foot pounds according to the FSM. Make sure you cannot move a battery terminal connection by hand when tight.

Problem persists? Report back.

Thanks, for everyone's help so far.

I have another question.

Whenever I remove BCM connector C2(middle connector), all my DIC gauges spring to life.

Is this a sign of a bad BCM, what all does it connect too and could this be my culprit?

Any insight would be helpful.

You will have to get a wiring diagram to find out what that connectors wiring goes to, there's no easy straightforward answer to your question.

Some signs of acid corrosion? If it was profound enough to leak down the center of the tray, your PCM lies beneath.
