Default 98 tic

A friend of mine just replaced his knock sensor. Removed the intake to do so. Upon reassembly, he now has a tic coming from the passenger rear of the motor. Strange thing, is it continues after he shuts to motor off for a bit. This make sense? any thoughts?

thanks
Chris

When iron expands or contracts with heat, it will often tick. My wood stove does it constantly. My guess is he has the stock manifolds/cats and that ticking noise is metal expanding when heating, and contracting when cooling. The reason he notices it is because he's looking for issues after his repair and never noticed it before.

These are just my guesses. There's nothing mechanically moving once the motor is shut off.
