3rd gear grinds when cold.....
I've noticed that when I drive my car the past few days its about 10-15 degrees out. The first time I go into 3rd gear it grinds a little (it is the M6). After that, it is perfectly fine. I'm pretty sure the car is still on the factory ATF fill. I'm hoping that changing the fluid will cure this as the car has 53K miles on it. In that case, what is a good replacement like amsoil or redline? Also, anybody else have that problem, when its really cold the first time you go into 3rd it grinds a little.
Guess when I do the clutch job down the road and pull the tranny out I'll open her up to take a look at what all synchro's are F'd up.

Great info, I also found this http://www.amsoil.com/products/atf.html on amsoils site. Looks like petroleum ATF around the temps its been here is around its borderline performance area. Guess what my next project is gonna be....
