Default Headlight motor connection

Can someone show me what the headlight motor connection looks like when properly seated on a C5 does it make a clicking sound into place. I just replaced both and they act worse than they did before. With the old left headlight motor it would click, but go down just fine. With the new ones both headlights randomly work or not. I think it might be that my connectors aren't locked in. How far in does that connector have to be. Does the tab snap in over it. I know that it's a rather odd question, but two new headlight motors should not be acting worse than an older one. I now have a vibration sound coming from my pop up headlights instead of just a clicking on one side when lowering even with two new motors. They both randomly decide to lower or even open properly without me having to flip them on an off several times..This makes me think the connector should somehow lock into place or make a clicking sound when connected. I am pretty sure two new motors wouldn't be bad at once when I only originally had one bad one. So I am almost certain it's that the connector is not properly locking. A picture or video showing how it should look when properly locked down would be very helpful.

Would a loose connector cause this?

Update: I found out what was causing this
After making sure the connectors were properly seated on the piece that holds the headlight motor connector down the connector finally makes a clicking sound when seating both connectors in place. Neither connector was on the piece they are meant to slide over. They were just dangling and bouncing around.

Now for the popping sound: I checked the wiring route and bulb connector angle relative to the crossbeam directly behind it.
The bulb in the right high beam headlight was not facing down which was causing the cross bar to hit it when lowering causing the popping sound. The wiring also somehow got jammed underneath the headlight motor itself making it so the headlight could not lower without putting tension on the wiring going to the headlight itself which in turn pulled it back near the cross beam that was hitting it. After rerouting both headlights wiring and removing the jam from underneath the right headlight motor the issue for the right headlight seems to solved, but the issue with the left headlight clicking still exists even with a new motor. What could be causing this? I will post a video for you to hear exactly what it is doing.

Attached is the video for the sound it's making when the popup headlights lower even with a new motor.

Also I want to know what you think of this.
When I pull right up next to the wall and look at my headlights only this look even. By that I mean the hotspot is directly inline with the left headlight low beam center, but to do that I have to make it come out farther than the plastic molding. Is this not the proper way to center the left headlight? If you look at the right headlight it is flush and easy for the headlight to retract. Whereas on the left headlight it must hit the molding to lower and push down on the plastic bevel slightly. Should the hotspot be directly centered to the headlight when right up close to a wall.

I got rid of my sylvania silverstars as they were just too dim and went back to my old lasfit lsplus 8000 Lumens which works great for a corvette.

Here is what it looks like up against the wall. I was told to align the headlights up against the wall first, then align the horizontal 25 feet back. Is this not how it's done for the c5?
It seems odd that my headlight has to actually pop out past the molding just to be aligned up against the wall. As always thank you for all of your help.
Also I have attached another video to allow you to hear what the driver's side headlight is doing better even after a new headlight motor. I will go back and fix the headlight bevel on the right side too.
