Default Swapping out EBCM/BPMV

I'm had a few issues with ABS/TC... I tried rebuilding the EBCM but still get codes and have mostly the same issues so my next step is to swap out the EBCM/BPMV for a known working unit in the hopes that will address my issues.

Any thing I can do to prep the unit that's going in? I remember reading an old thread on here where somebody said they cleaned the bpmv with solvent - anybody else done that? Or just blast the ports out with compressed air?

Well I have never put a used brake unit on. But. Did the used unit come with any plugs in the line ports? I think I would use aerosol brake clean, non-chlorinated. Using the straw that comes with it, flush out the inside of the ports with that end of the brake unit facing down. Having a vise or someone holding the unit is helpful. I would use compressed air flat against the surface, blowing and moving just before the hole.. This seems to create a vortex to suck the fluid out. You should see the fluid vapor at the point when the tip of the air gun nozzle hits the right spot. You can try this as you spray fluid in the port also to flush. Takes a bit of practice to get the right spot with the air gun. Another thing to try is using a pressure bleeder and activating the abs unit with a scanner. Which would be a good thing to do anyways with a used unit.
