I have a CEL on for the knock sensors 1 and 2 and the mechanic told me they need replacement. But everywhere I check online for C5 Knock Sensor kits they have bad reviews. Is there anywhere recommended to make sure I get ones thatll work and not give me a headache with a good quality manifold gasket and harness?
I just installed ACDelco knock sensors and Dorman wiring harness. So far, so good. The ACD’s are expensive but get excellent reviews. The Dorman harness looked fine to me.

While you are there you might change the oil pressure sensor if it’s original. You can find all your parts at Rockauto then you can choose from the cheapest to the best. Shipping is fast and customer service is excellent

I wouldn't given the replacements are hit or miss. If you have a factory OPS that is not leaking, I would leave it alone. Inspect all the wiring in that area...and call it a day.
Based on several threads posted here previously, I bit the bullet and went with NAPA knock sensors and NAPA replacement harness. So far, about 2000 miles since then and no errors and no codes. I also made sure to RTV the knock sensor covers to prevent water intrusion and subsequent corrosion. I also think my first detailed engine cleaning after I received the car caused my Knock Sensor failure.

Doesn't seem like these cars handle pressure washing too well. Some Simple Green in a hand sprayer and a gentle rinse will do wonders. Helps to have a couple sizes of detail bristle brushes.

I have been reading similar things about the NAPA replacement, and I would like to go with those. I have to order some other items from RockAuto, so if anyone has had good luck with any brands on there, I'd be open to that as well.
There are two on the NAPA website, do you know which one you used?
Part #: ECH DKS238K - Line: Echlin Ignition - $173 - https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/ECHD...ppid=NOE926084
Part #: NOE 926084 - Line: NAPA Solutions - $96 - https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NOE9...pid=ECHDKS238K
I'll still get the intake manifold gasket from RockAuto. Mine has the LSX intake, I'm assuming it is the same gasket?
Not sure of the part numbers, but I do remember that they were both in boxes marked with Echlin, a brand name of NAPA.
Good luck. About 8k miles with another engine wash in the fall and still no error codes. Good knock sensors with RTV around the covers -- and you are good to go !
BTW -- adding a small length of vacuum hose to the MAP sensor nipple makes the intake manifold re-installation less of a pain.

Hmm, I'll do some more digging but it sounds like the Echlin ones are the way to go. Their pricing is a bit unfortunate, but I guess it's better than doing the job twice!
Thank you for the tip, I'll grab some scrap tubing from work!
