Well the stock tranny held out as long as it could.I now have the 2nd gear wot shift delay while beating the rev limiter. All was fine till the A&A kit .Anyone out there is using a sonnax 6 pinion planetary? I like the idea of the tighter ratios to try to keep the supercharger in the sweet spot.Any feedback out there?
Mine does the same thing when the tires spin. Your tires are spinning at the top of first gear, the slush box is shifting, but it always had a slow shift, so it pings off the rev limiter until it actually shifts, my tires actually continue to spin halfway through second gear too.
Are you experiencing the same thing? Your trans is probably fine. Add a drag radial, and problem might be solved.
Im on mickey Thompson drag radials now, unfortunately during normal driving shifting into 2nd is delayed.I was thinking I was hitting rev limiter due to the cooler temps, but it has gotten worse with now even with warmer weather.I will check it out today when I get home, just to be sure it isn’t just blowing the tires off up top when full boost comes up. Thanks
Maybe just start with something simple, try topping the trans off with fluid, maybe it’s low. Good news, it still shifts, right? But, sadly, most autos are on borrowed time with a supercharger. I’m running a full bolt on coupe with 3.73’s and 3200 stall. I’m surprised my trans is still intact. And yes, I tried drag radials like a week ago, shifts nicely, pops in second WOT at 35mph, no tire spin through second gear with the drag radial and did not ping the rev limiter, I’ll get 60’ times this summer at a drag strip.
I would check the fluid before driving it anymore. The 4L60E needs to be pumped through the trans underneath the car. You need the car on jack stands, a lift, something…
