Default Gas smell

I have a 2001 c5 with a gas smell occurring above the right rear wheel after driving. I recently replaced the fuel filter thinking that was the issue but it did not solve my problem. I also let the pump prime while up on jacks and did not see any gas leaks. Thinking it’s an evap issue. Looking for advice on what else to look for, thanks!

EVAP cannister is located in the right rear wheel well area.

Nope no codes which was kinda confusing to me. I figured it would throw one if there was a leak in the evap system somewhere. Maybe the crossover pipe? I know some years had issues with those but I didn’t think it was the 01s
