Default C5 Steering Sensor Harness Question

Cage builder had my dash out and now that it us back in, the steering sensor does not work.
I am trying to get the stability control back online. ABS and Traction Control are working,

No wires are (supposed to have been) cut durng the cage installation but many harnesses are unplugged to get the dash out to weld in the dash and down bars.

I am getting Codes C1287 and C1288. The Autel scanner reports NO output at all from the steering sensor.

Do not think the steering sensor is bad because the sensor is plugged in - but the plug at the sensor does not have 5V in (tested with meter).
I also have verified that the Yaw SensLateral Sensor, and Brake Sensors all have 5 V in.

Questions:

Where is OTHER end of the harness that connects to the steering sensor?

Is the harness that connects to the steering sensor one run of wire all the way to the stability control module OR does that hareness plug into another harness?

(Is there another plug - unplugged along the way?)

Any help is appreciated.

It helps if you populate basic information in your profile.....or at least state what year your car is.

If you are not seeing the 5 volt at the Steering Wheel Position Sensor but you ARE at the Brake and Yaw sensor you will have to check the wiring downstream of Splice (S310) which as you can see in the wiring diagram is near the Yaw Rate Sensor…the 5 volts comes from the EBCM at S108 then branches off to the other sensors on the Gray wire.

From what I remember, on a C5 Corvette, the steering sensor is tied into the system that keeps the car stable while driving. The wires from this sensor usually go up the steering column and then to the car’s main computer that handles stability, but it's not a straight shot from sensor to module. It’s pretty rare for the wires to get cut when you’re putting in something like a roll cage, but it's pretty easy to miss plugging a connector back in or not getting it snapped in all the way.

My suggestion is to go back and follow the wires from the steering sensor and see where they lead you. It’s likely there’s a spot where it joins with another bunch of wires or plugs into a separate box before reaching the main control module. And that module? It’s often in the engine compartment, though it can be different depending on the year of the car.
