Changed all shims in seat tracks. Now seat goes up and down but not forward or back. Motor runs but no movement. Redid shims as first attempt they were not aligned perfectly. Still no movement.
Anyone run into a similar issue???
We i want to thank everyone for their help. I did about everything wrong that i could. Shims were not aligned properly, transmission wires were not seated properly. I did find that the one marked left goes back in the right side of the seat as you were sitting in it. Just the opposite side you would think.
I now have power seats that dont rock forward or back! Yippie!!!!!

How sure are you that the alignment is correct? I lost the alignment on my first try as well, ended up having to manually drive each rail to one end, the match turns to the center.
Does it matter which side the left hand is on? Ive tried it both ways didn't seem to make a difference. I
Absolutely there's a difference. They rotate in different directions so your first step should be determining which side is which. With the seat out, make some jumper wires to bench test the fwd/rev. Wyou are ready to reassemble, move the seat all the way back and position the bushing appropriately. You may have to play with it but my seat initially only slid backwards about 3 inches and stopped. I'm guessing your bushings aren't indexed properly.

Make sure the drive cable is engaged on the one rail. Sounds like it is not engaged with the track. It is on the end of the rail.
Thats right. I had forgotten about that little cable. It really is helpful to have the seat on a bench to check it's operation.....If the motor spins but the bushings don't move it could very well be that short litte cable connector.
