I did check the plug for the 5 v ref and it is there. Plus Ground good now

Bought AC Delci from O Riley

The ONLY way you can check if the signal wire voltage is getting back to the computer is with a scan tool…jumping 5 volt reference to signal !!

Thank you for the info on the scan t.

I did verify the the pressure sensor is working by back testing the signal voltage at the sensor.

I feel I am at a dead end. At this point.

What voltage did you see at the sensor ??….even if the pressure sensor is good there are other inputs that are needed to make the compressor run…did you swap the AC Clutch Relay with another 4 pin relay ??

The voltage was 2.0

I swapped the horn relay and also powered the AC relay on the bench tested good.

Still no results.

I checked the voltage at 86 87 is 12v. and 85 also at 12v ignition on and AC turned off. When you turn on AC button lights for a couple of seconds and goes out. 85 stays high, goes not go to gnd.

What other inputs?

only code is the P0530 pressure circuit.

Did you clear that P0530 from the DIC if that is where you saw it ??…there are some HVAC codes that will prevent the AC from working if still present…. I would be looking at the ambient temp sensor if you had the right scan tool.

yes I did. Clear it every time

The HVAC section has never shown a code.

I display in the car show’s correct outside temperature.

The P0530 is the code for the pressure sensor…you would still need to check the ambient temp sensor reading with a scan tool…the temp may say 90 degrees on the HVAC module but there is something called “substituted values” which I won’t get into right now…you need to see an “AC Request” data PID from a scan tool which can denote a bad HVAC module…without a good scan tool there is not much more help I can give you.

Yes, pin 85 is the clutch relay control circuit and is grounded by the PCM if you look at the schematic…if you were to take a thin copper wire and wrap it around the blade of pin 85 (closest to window and fender) and reinstall it and then run the car and ground that copper wire the relay would energize and the AC would work…now you could have a broken wire between the PCM (pin 43 C2 connector) and the relay.

Thanks. I will see about getting ahold of a scan tool

I thing that just came to mind that I have not checked is the BCM and if there’s any moisture or water coming down from the evaporator.

Could a BCM issue like that cause the AC problem?

I have not cleaned the evaporator drain in a while.

The BCM is not involved in the HVAC operation…it’s just the HVAC Module and the PCM.

ok

HVAC module
will a scanner be able to check that?
is that a Data cable to the PCM?

Have not been able to get ahold of a scanner.

Question; Will the compressor relay show 12vdc on the signal side when ACc is switched off then go to grnd when calling for the ac to turn on. 12vdc stays on the tealy. Coil and PWR side.

The scan tool will be able to check the below data PID which is important…”AC Request”…the HCAV module communicates to the PCM over the serial data line…I will post the serial data network below.
