Default TPIS offroad pipes

I have TPIS headers on the car and want a set of offroad pipes for the car. I need the cats to pass emmissions once a year. So I want a complete mid section. Are you goes buying a x pipe like the magna flow, or bassani and adding tubes to the collectors or does some one have a complete mid section to bolt in?

thanks,

I would almost bet you'll have to fabricate your own. TPIS may be willing to build you one, but most of these shops steer clear of selling items that impose such huge fines.

Understand. :yesnod: The FLPs and I believe LGs can come with cats and offroad pipe in the same package. My car came with TPIS already on it and I don't see the need to change. The LG's are the only header I would think make any more noticeable power. Wanted to ask around and see what is out. If I have to I'll fab it up.

MTI sells an off-road X-pipe that fits directly on the TPIS headers and replaces cats. Here you go:

Dr. Gaswww.drgas.com has a offroad pipe that'll weld up perfectly. You can also get it through MTI.

Yes, I know I have to do some cleaning under there. :)

I was just thinking about this last week and began kicking myself.

When I had the TPIS LT's put on I should have had the stock intermediate H pipe with the cats configured to mate up to the header H pipe. This would have still meant a little welding.

I then should have had some (buddy doing the welding not a shop) pipes configured to the New X pipe.

That way I would have ended up with a mostly stock intermediate pipe with cats and stock H pipe for emmisions and a no cats X pipe intermediate pipe for err the track! that's it for the track.

Face,

How does your system smell w/o the cats? So many say they loose power and it smells, but my buddy had no cats on his 02 A4 C5 with 3.42's and a SY3500. He gained 15 HP and TQ on the dyno and I saw him dyno it.

I might add TPIS Headers after I do my gears and TC. I am getting a SY3500 just like you have :yesnod:

Thanks

Yes you can smell the exhaust now, but I kinda like it.
My girlfriend complains about it though, but she'll deal with it if she wants a ride in it. :yesnod:

Face, Did you weld flanges on to the headers?

Also, does the MTI X replace the cats, and is welded to the remain factory mid pipes?

Thanks guys,
Lamar
