Hey everyone - I am looking for help on how to maintain the shift rod that goes from the shifter to the manual transmission
The joints on mine are squeeking. I also can’t tell if it’s rusting or if the old grease is red. Either way, any advice on how to clean and grease these things?
eg Is disassembly required? Should I use a wire brush then re-grease? Any other advice?
There is not much you can do, they are all pretty sloppy, that rubber sleeve is GM's solution. Send it in and I'll fix it. You'll have a lot less rattle and slop in your shifter when I get done with it.

When the time comes that I can get my shifter linkage out I’m absolutely going to do the TMOD linkage upgrade. IMO it looks very well thought out to me. I really like modifications such as this that address factory production slop. It also appears that it was designed the way it should have been in the first place. This is not a paid endorsement lol.
I've received your order, I think you'll like the improvements. I'll have tracking for you when it's headed back your way, it won't be long. Thanks guys.
