diff swap

will a 3.42 diff from a manual car go into a auto car with no mods

you have to change the pcm for the ratio change, and TCC slip tables and shift points need to be changed in the PCM to compensate for the gear change. the diff is a bolt in

I have a 3.42 diff in my 2001 with an automatic, but it is far from stock.

You just need someone to reprogram the pcm to the 3:42 diff. PS: It really wakes up the car!

3.42 and a nice 3200 stall would a nice street combo. Are you installing this yourself? Just curious.

You have to drop the entire back of the car. It’s not impossible. People have done it before on Quickjacks.

They said they were going to throw a trans service in my purchase. It’s not documented, I didn’t pay for it. I doubt they did a trans service.

it looks like they left my TT in there, just removed the trans and diff

I did mine in my single car garage just using jack stands. Quite difficult. That was in 2012 when I was only 57.

I’m also a major gear head.

This is exactly the combo my car has had since 2005. A 3.42 diff with the upgraded stub shaft, and a 3,200 Yank converter. OP, if you do this, start a tire fund. Do it now!!! Trust me......

The 3.42 differential from a manual transmission C5 will need the adapter plate cover insert #12554838 to work behind the automatic transmission. You can call either one of these shops for details;
