Default 1999 Corvette Test Pipes

Hello

I just got a 1999 base corvette and want to delete the CATS and install test pipes. This should be cheaper and easier than full headers.

Has anyone done this and if so what test pipes do you recommend?

Thanks!

Just do some Speed Engineering headers with X-pipe and be done with it. Look at the bottom of this post for a cost to swap yourself:

In my opinion, no. Plus, They are a polished stainless (CRS) they fit like a glove. I've had mine for about 14 months and 12k miles so far. I had them Jet Hot coated to help keep the heat down in the cockpit, but most do not get them coated. Look at the MrBlack's Youtube video to see how easy they go in. You realistically need a friend to help hold once put in place and get a couple bolts started. If you have a quick jack or some tall jack stands this is an easy project that could be done in about a day or possibly less in your driveway. You'll also need a saws-all (or tubing cutter) to cut your original "H" pipe part of the OEM exhaust. Measure twice, cut once. You'll also need a tune as there will be two less O2 sensors with the SE setup.
