Default headlight issues

Hey guys have a question ...I have a C5 vert with one headlight up and one down ....the usual issues .....they both go up and down just not in sequence . not in sync ....then when i shut the car off and turn off the headlights the drivers side stays up ...I dont have any grinding noises either ...there are only 33.000 miles on this car too ....not that that matters just wanted to mention .......wondering if I should replace the gears as well asa have some kind of adjustment made that Ive been reading about on this forum ......has anyone ever used the BRONZE repair kit gears that they sell on EBAY instead of the usual BRASS ones .? just asking . They are more reosonably priced ...My other C5 from many years ago I used the brass ... but of coarse they didnt offer the bronze ones back then ...... any ideas here ?

I've replaced mine with the plastic gears. The brass gears are great but in the event the motor tries to running after the travel has stopped could very well damage the motor according to Lyle at C&S. Try manually opening or closing both headlights to their max position then try again. There's a small worm gear inside the motor and maybe they're out of sync. Just a thought. If that fails make sure all the little white bumper stops are in place.

:Mine were doing this as well. I got the car from my dad, he had put bronze gears in awhile ago however now it was the motor itself on the passenger side. A set of motors with gears from Amazon for $70 bucks have been working great now for a year. Swapping entire assemblies out is a lot easier than replacing gears it seems to me.

Well you can get the gears for about $70 Amazon has bronze ,brass, and nylon gears . Motors are about $45 each i dont think I need the motors, they work and there is no grinding noise .

Should be you turn the control switch for the headlights ....they both should open , then turn the switch towards you , and they both close and stay closed .....
