'99 vert-My check engine light is coming on due to an intermittent failure in the rear knock sensor circuit. It commonly fails during warm up at around 1900 RPM. It doesn't seem to matter if the engine is under load or not. Has anybody else had this failure? I'm thinking of just replacing the sensor and while I'm at it putting on the LS6 intake.
Any information from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a ton guys!! Yes, the code is P0327 and the thread given below is excellent. Of course, I wish their were a simple pill. Now I think that I will go ahead and put on the LS6 intake and try to fix this problem at the same time. I am fairly certain that there is no real damage but the everpresent indicator light is annoying.
Totally from memory, and I may have this wrong, but I seem to think there was a TSB on the rear sensor getting wet and corroding or something. Might want to check "alldata" web site to see if something is listed.
I get the 0327 and 0332 codes. Replaced both sensors and I still get the codes. I never know when it will come on. It happens at different times, Start up cold or hot and sometimes just going down the road at 50mph. I never had this before with the 422 until I got it back this time from having the engine repaired. I shut the codes off at the track or I get 9.9 degrees of KR. The wiring looks OK. I guess It's the noisy engine. I would like to find an answer to this problem. I have done the TSB, Silicone and Foam off the bottom of the intake.
If an intermitent misfire comes up I just go through the reset procedure through the D.I.C and blow it off.You may want to try 02 simmulatores slight possibility they may ignore an irrattating situation that causes 0 damage just a pia.Dave S.
