Default Active Handling System Error '01 Z06

Hi all,

I've been reading through threads to try to figure out my next steps, but was hoping for some guidance in my next troubleshooting steps after sharing details of my plight, as the broad issue seems pretty common. 62,000mi on the car.

Codes in question:

B2265 H (mirror adj...existed/found it's way to my notes, not on currently)

C1287 H (steering sensor)

B0051 HC (May be it's own deal...has been there for awhile I think. No reason to believe the car has been crashed, I've only driven it a few thousand miles in two years of ownership)

B2723 H (I accidentally grabbed a spare key that has given me trouble before, so this may be related to that)

So, the first two are probably irrelevant here, but I thought I would list for the sake of being thorough.

Late last year and early this spring, there were a few times that the display would flash "active handling" for a couple seconds intermittently. No rhyme or reason, didn't seen to affect anything. Then I noticed it randomly giving a bit of pedal feedback/ABS activated under very light braking from highway speed.

Reset codes, acted fine for a few drives, then the issue became more significant. "Service vehicle soon/service active handling" and the TC light came on, along with ABS on light braking and even applying what felt like the front left brake at highway speeds all on its own.

Car got new wheels early this spring, then was lowered and aligned, but issues were starting before any of that.

Before the final height adjustment and alignment, I had cleaned the 4 main grounding points under the hood and everything seemed happy for a few drives before and after...then it went right to the "service vehicle soon//service active handling" and TC light etc. 15 minutes into a drive.

I am thinking my next thing to check is the steering wheel sensor connection if I can find it, but want to cover all my bases before I take out the EBCM and send it in, which I am not at all opposed to if I am relatively sure I've done my diligence elsewhere.

Thanks,
Matt

I’d erase all your codes since you have some history ones and then go for a ride and see which come back…before shutting off the car see what you have as current…the B0051 won’t be cleared until you change the airbag…just cleaning grounds doesn’t accomplish anything unless you know which grounds are involved in your issue…did you see what those grounds do ??

Thanks for the reply. Took a drive and C1287 came back about 10 minutes in. I thought I saw one under AO-LDCM but I didn't read it before it disappeared.

Other than remembering that one of those 4 grounds had something to do with the EBCM, I am not sure of their other functions. None of them appeared very corroded/dirty for whatever that's worth.

If you have a scan tool and can read some data PIDS using this diagnostic tree and have some electrical experience this may help you.
