I have an 03 Corvette Z06 and the compressor recently locked up. I had it replaced as well as the receiver, dryer, accumulator, condenser. The air wasn’t getting cold enough to start so I took it back and they found more debris in the orifice tube so they replaced it again and recharged. It blows ice cold now but the compressor clutch doesn’t ever cycle off until I turn the ac off. I replaced the pressure switch next to the coolant tank. There are no codes in the computer. Any ideas. Thank you for the help.

Do you have refrigerant gauges you can connect to monitor pressure? What is the local temperature? Do you have the control set to outside air or recirculate?
I don’t have gauges so I don’t know what the pressures are but my mechanic says they’re good. Who knows? I have tried it at different temperatures outside. 70-95. I have it set to recirculate but have tried it pulling outside air too. Thanks

Did you raise your concern about the compressor cycling? Does your mechanic confirm that your hvac system is operating normally?
The C5 compressor doesn't cycle on and off like old compressor designs, instead it varies the flow with internal valving so once the system is turned on the compressor will be turning.

This is my understanding too, mine would cycle on/off but it was due to low refrigerant/ incorrect low and high pressures.
Point being when it's working right it's "always on" when the AC is turned on and you are getting cold air.
I’ve had the car for 20 years next month and never paid any attention to if the compressor cycled until I had it replaced then I started looking at it. I did ask the mechanic and he said he didn’t see anything that would trigger it to cycle like a normal car. He said when the refrigerant got low it did cycle off like it was supposed to. I didn’t know that it didn’t cycle like a regular car. I guess I can stop staring at the compressor clutch now and just drive it. lol. Thanks for the help.
